2017 - Men's Freestyle; Dake update

Looking ahead a bit to the new year - if you are thinking about going to watch the Men's 2017 Freestyle World Team Trials in person, get yourself to Lincoln, Nebraska the weekend of June 9-10. As a bonus you will also be able to take in the Junior Freestyle World Team Trials being held the same weekend in the University of Nebraska's newly-renovated Bob Devaney Center. The Greco and Women's Team Trials will be held at a different time and place.
The winners of the Men's tournament in the eight weight classes will earn a spot on the U.S. World Team which will compete in the World Championships in Paris, France August 21-26, 2017. The Junior World Championships are scheduled for August 1-6 in Tempere, Finland.
Word has it that Kyle Dake is back from his injuries and anxious to compete back down at 74kg. His main rival, Jordan Burroughs, will not have the advantage in 2017 of sitting out the Trials Challenge tournament and then taking on the winner in a best of three match since he did not medal in the 2016 Olympics. However, Burroughs does get the advantage of wrestling in the Trials in his home town.
