Yough was the lowest drop for a #2 pre-season team ever, Kittanning was the lowest drop for a #1 team. Avonworth was the most underrated ever, and Jeannette was the best finish for a last place pre-season team. However, 5 teams finished exactly where they started, and almost all of the rest were very close, which makes for an off-season rankings accuracy of about 77.1%, well above average, and within shooting distance of the best ever. ..go figure. The big shake-up in the status quo was this season afterall, and I do expect it to be the new normal for a shake. Some teams, like FC, are probably too good of a program not to bounce back solidly, and SSB could be headed towards some serious rebuilding, and then there's BC with those underclassmen and more to come over the next few seasons, so as always there will be some chagenisms (thank you Al Sharpton), but generally speaking, I think Avonworth, SA, & EC are tournament quality teams for a while, SF may have had their best shot this season but look to be a contender in the near future as well. Burrell, well, they ain't done yet, and MP is back in the game to stay for a spell, too. Not sure I see a super loaded team that takes the PIAA duals by storm, in fact, I'm sure I don't, but some years there is no such team in the rest of the state either, however, what I do see is the solid performance we had at indy states to continue, no, scratch that, to improve. The future looks purty darn sweet.Boom Tomorrow! Tune in around Independece Day for a look at next season!
