Sweany holds on in another wild one to win 10-8; Kent State loses 2 team points unsportmanlike conduct?! Final score 27-7 Cornell.

No. Curiously, Kent took two forfeits at that weight yesterday.

Cornell pulls out wins in the last 3 to keep it somewhat respectable - majors by Darmstadt and Sweany, final team score 27-11. Darmstadt with a big Mdec. over Willie Miklus (who seems to have had a somewhat subpar weekend, FWIW)

M125 - Barlow McGhee (Missouri) over Unknown (Unattached) Forf
133 - john Erneste (Missouri) over Charles Tucker (Cornell) Dec 6-2
141 - Jaydin Eierman (Missouri) over Yianni Diakomihalis (Cornell) Dec 9-6
149 - Grant Leeth (Missouri) over William Koll (Cornell) Dec 6-5
157 - Joseph Lavallee (Missouri) over Adam Santoro (Cornell) Maj 16-5
165 - Connor Flynn (Missouri) over Jonathon Chavez (Cornell) Dec 5-3
174 - Daniel Lewis (Missouri) over Brandon Womack (Cornell) Fall 1:30
184 - Maxwell Dean (Cornell) over Canten Marriott (Missouri) Dec 4-3
197 - Ben Darmstadt (Cornell) over William Miklus (Missouri) Maj 9-0
HWT - Jeramy Sweany (Cornell) over Dante Jiovenetta (Missouri) Maj 10-2
Missouri's team score was adjusted by -1.000 for UNSPORTSANLIKE

Well there's work to do i guess. Still Koll lost by 1, Yianni lost in the closing seconds and we took a FFL at 125. Change the losses to wins and the FFL to an L and we lose 18-17 and it's not a catastrophe. (maybe 19-17 because I assume the penalty point Eierman cost his team for throwing his headgear was celebratory?)

Miklus went 2-2 on the weekend with a fall and a tech against KSU and Rider so he wasn't totally off his game. Makes the Darmstadt major even more impressive.

I want to see what happened at the end of Yianni's match but feel confident that he'll rebound. Bothers me that the team can't get a video highlights package when Flo or Track has the video exclusive.

Womack hasn't shown anything at 174. Biggest disappointment of the year (not him as a person; his performance on the mat).

After the duals they had a tournament of sorts to give some matches to the backups who made the trip. Baughman, Dawkins and Jacob Taylor won both of their matches; Simaz, Santoro and Richard won their only matches (Simaz and Santoro both MFF'd out of the "tournament" after winning their openers). Not much to be said for the competition but at least we didn't take any Ls.

So Yianni will not be undefeated.

The bigger problem is what's up with Russo, Tucker and Womack.

I suspect the first two just had a bad weekend, for whatever reason. The latter, something else, I guess.

That said, Darmstadt and Koll were bright spots on the weekend, I think. Yianni was Yianni, I don't take too much away from the loss to Eierman.

All in all, I think the Duals were a great experiment, and it sounds like pretty successful overall.

20 days to get ready for the Mountain Buzzards!
