Good opportunity for Tucker - he'll likely face Bryan Lantry (IM #16, TOM #17, FLO #16) - Could put him on the map!

Tucker not only has Lantry on Monday he also has a couple of top ten (WIN rankings) guys from Minnesota and Missouri in Florida in a couple of weeks. Down the road Lehigh (Parker) and Drexel (DeSanto) are on the current WIN top 20 list at 133. So he will have a lot of "opportunities" :D

Tucker is very interesting for sure and could make an impact at the EIWA and NCAA tourneys this season IMO. His OT loss to Vito at the Binghamton in Nov was an indication of how good he is. He lost on a very tough locking hands on a mat return quick bounce back to the feet call.

By the way Buffalo is not too bad to say the least. Quick glance looks something like 6-4? Closer look this weekend.
Glad to see it will be streamed. Saves a 3 hour ride on what can be a very treacherous December journey on the NYS thruway.

6-4 is possible, but I'd be a little disappointed with that breakdown. IMHO, Cornell is a significant favorite at 5 weights (141, 165, 174, 184, and 197). Buffalo is a favorite at 2 weights (133, 285), though Cornell could win either. Call 125 and 149 toss-ups between fairly even wrestlers and no idea at 157. 6-4 would mean most of the close calls went against the Big Red.

FWIW - Wrestlestat predicts this 8-2 matches for Cornell, with Buffalo taking 133 and 285; I don't think either of those matches are a lock for Buffalo, but some others favoring Cornell can also go either way.

Very interesting venue for sure.

We are having few Cornell fans over to watch the action together.

Mat Rat, are you saying you would predict this one differently? Do tell!! :D

I like the Wrestlestat comparison because it gives you the matchups quickly for those of us with not too much time (or too lazy? :P ) to do the legwork; but I do take the predictions with a grain of salt. In this case, I think there are a number of close bouts, I would say worst case would be Cornell by 6-4 split, best case - 10-0 sweep looks plausible. I figure 8-2 is pretty reasonable odds, maybe not the exact matches predicted.

As for the UNI dual - I'm not sure we would replicate the same result if we met them again, but I was pretty happy with how that one went down!

184 Dean gets a major on the strength of a brutal ride and turns.
197 Honis gets a decision, has to work for it!

Dean the Younger looks just as built as his bro... whoa!
Agree w/ Honis working for that match as well, RB.
