Congratulation, Big Red wrestlers and coaches. Great start to a fun looking season !

I remember driving to Ithaca that night ... of the Minny dual ... in order to watch a tournament the next day. Family in the car, with my wife reading the updates from this board ... the car was rocking with each post. Wish we were there to see it live.

Three guys with a combined five previous years at Cornell with a combined career W-L record of 0-1 won tonight. That's your story right there.

And that one loss was to a national finalist as a fill-in two classes above his current weight.

At 125, UNI gets the only TD of the match and runs up over 3 minutes of riding time which would seem like a recipe for success.

Instead, a 10-4 loss. How about that?

A narrow win would have been good. But to take 7 of 10 with three pins is awesome!

Finally watched the archive of this and in retrospect it is not a surprise that Schwarm won the rematch with Russo. after a good reversal to a fantastic position, Schwarm rode him for 4 solid minutes. Russo did well to keep from getting turned but he was also never even close to getting out. Also true to a lesser extent with Dean/Foster.

We got some great performances back then. I'd love to see more of what he did against UNI from Tucker.
