Chavez up quickly w/TD and 4 back points on a tilt.

Escape, 6-1. Crazy match, can't keep up. 16pts in first period so far.

1st period ends, 11-7 Chavez after one!

On bottom, trying to roll through, gets the escape. 12-7.

Kelly goes low, Chavez with the TD, 14-7. Chavez cuts him, 14-8. Chavez with the TD, 4 backs, fall called right as time runs out - will it stand?

Schwab upset but no video review and it stands!

15-7 Cornell lead.

Now two ranked wrestlers - 'Bama - Lujan

This is an SEC matchup - Alabama - Georgia!

Lots of scrambling around, potentially dangerous. Back to their feet, more scrambling. End of one, no score.

2nd, Lujan on top. Womack with the Peterson but Lujan gets out of it, lots of RT piling up. Womack out but 1:36 RT. 1-0 Womack.

3rd, Lujan with quick reversal, 2-1. RT getting up there big time. Womack out, 3-2 score.

Another TD. Lost track. 5-3 victory for UNI.

15-10 Cornell in the lead. Dean up next.

Dean up vs. all american and #4 Foster.

Foster with the TD, Dean cut, 2-1 UNI. Dean in, looking for the 2, working for it, driving, and he gets it! Dean up 3-2 over Foster.

10 s left in the first, Dean riding, and he hangs on. 3-2 at the end of 1, Foster defers, Dean down.

Dean up, gets out, up 4-2. Dean has 6s RT. Dean going to work, has leg, 46s, gets TD! 6-2 lead over Foster.

2nd period ends, Dean up 6-2, starts 3rd on top.

Flattens out Foster, looking great on top, riding hard, keeping him flat. RT locked, go OB with 42 s left.

Foster up and ends up with a reversal - 8-5 Dean. Foster gets the TD. Foster has to cut him due to RT.

Dean with the win! 9-7 final.

Cornell up 18-10 with 3 matches left.

Darmstadt in with an immediate TD, quickly gets 4 backs. Up 6-0.

Gets the cradle, locks it up, more backs, working hard with that cradle, 10-0.

And the pin!

Cornell up 24-10 and locks up the dual with HWT and 125 left.

Honis in at heavy against the much larger Isley (8-0).

Some dancing, Honis gets the TD and flattens him out. Gets a mat return and legs.

Honis up 2-0 with 42s RT, starts down.

Honis gets out, up 3-0. 90s left in the 2nd. Honis with the low shot, Isley with the shot, lots of deflecting. Back in the center, Isley loses balance and Honis with the TD! 5-0 Honis.

3rd period, 49s RT, 5-0. Isley on bottom.

Isley out, 5-1. Honis with good defense, 2pt takedown. 7-1 Honis, escape, 7-2 Honis.

Honis working for the major, can't get it, Isley with TD, 8-4 final!

27-10 Cornell with one match to go.

Have to bolt now.

I don’t think any of us had Bama losing and still applying a beating like that to uni.

Rarely does a Koll squad come out and look this good in November. But my takeaway is the total upward mobility of the entire lineup. Looking like a fun season.

Overall great showing. You could see a lot of energy coming from some of the new kids and I think that fed the other wrestlers. OK so I thought CU looked a bit undersized at some weights including 157, 174 and 184 but UNI looked very large for nearly all their weight classes. Womack wrestled ok but looks like he might need some strength for 174. Keep in mind the 2 hour weigh in for the first time.

125 - Russo - a huge 125 or so it looks. Kudos to him for making the weight while Noah B bailed. He has to be at least 5'7" and is taller than Coach Grey who was 133. Nice win for him over ranked opponent.

133 - Chaz Tucker - hard to imagine he can't go 125 but he looked fresh and strong at 133. Talk about low shot.

141 - YD could have probably opened up some more but overall played it smart.

149 - Good effort but overmatched

157 - Joey should not e at this weight. I hope Stroker gets in shape and wins this weight class at CU.

165 - Chavez - looked relaxed and strong. Good thing we have his lil brother too. What a style he has.

174 - Looked a bit weaker than his opponent and really did not do anything most of the match.

184 - Very surprised here. Dean looks pretty strong and did not make mistakes. His opponent was huge. Again - very surprised but liked the flex at the end of the match.

197 - kid showed up like a hammer. thought the other kids might tap.

285 - Honis did what he had to do.

Three guys with a combined five previous years at Cornell with a combined career W-L record of 0-1 won tonight. That's your story right there.

I was not there to see this landslide Big Red victory unfortunately, but the results indicate that it was somewhat reminiscent of another opening-season-upset-match against Minnesota 8-10 years ago, which was one of the most exciting CU dual matches ever, imho.
Congratulation, Big Red wrestlers and coaches. Great start to a fun looking season !

Seeing the results here ... damn. Said above but I'll say again, Cornell tends to start a bit slow. Impressed with this.

Mike Russo - beats #16 (trackwrestling rankings). Track had Mike at #25. Movin on up!
Tucker drops a hammer
Yianni beats #12 ... Movin on up!
Womack #6 loses to Lujan #8 ... :( movin down
Max Dean #16 beats #4 Foster ... Movin on up!
#16 Darmstadt woops #15 .... nice! Movin on up with that kind of woopin! (Was that Holshlag?)
Honis being a team player here, with good results!

Love it.

Anyone know if this is taped and can be watched online?
