End of day 2 - 4 guys in top 6

I'd say today was a great day. Congrats to the folks that make up and surround this program and to the 4 AAs in particular.

Nice job all. Team is in 5th place. Not sure if will stay there ... but for now, this is above expectations.

It'll require some help from Iowa, but Cornell can catch them for 4th tomorrow.

I don't think anyone had Cornell finishing 4th, or 5th for that matter.

From the Penn State Wrestling Club page:
http://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org/c ... &type=team

Team Standings
Team Points/ Maximum Potential Points
Penn State 114.5 144.5
Oklahoma State 94 143
Minnesota 88 137
Iowa 68 97
Cornell 51 82.5
Missouri 47.5 79
Ohio State 44.5 67.5
Iowa State 41.5 61.5
Oregon State 41 66.5
Virginia Tech 40 63
Illinois 39.5 57
Edinboro 34 48.5

So even if everyone lays an egg tomorrow the worst we could do is 11th; my best guess is probably somewhere around 5th/6th.

How do you figure even a possible fall to 11? Where are Iowa State, Oregon St or VT going to get 11 points with no finalists. That said, Iowa State has made a real comeback this year. Also, Missou is winding up with no finalists. That's unfortunate as PSU's Mega won by stalling, same way as he beat Perelli last year.

1. Penn State 114.5
2. Oklahoma St. 94.0
3. Minnesota 86.0
4. Iowa 68.0
5. Cornell 51.0
6. Missouri 47.5
7. Ohio St. 46.0
8. Iowa St. 41.0
8. Oregon St. 41.0
10. Virginia Tech 40.0

Oh, I get it now-- lots of points in the consis (and assuming we get none). Pretty unlikely.

aha. Iowa is too far out to catch. I looked at the scores while they were still wrestling.

If Cornell can hold 5th, that is still a great result.

According to the Penn State site, Iowa is catchable, though it is unlikely.

Four or more AA streak continues...

Postby D3 for LU » Sat Mar 23, 2013 10:44 am

Someone can correct me if I'm in error here, but including this tournament...Cornell has a SEVEN season streak of having 4 (or more) AA @ the NCAA's. 8)

(...it must be something in the water up on that Ithaca campus. :? )
