If Mike beat's Iowa's Ballweg tonight then he is guaranteed AA status. At national duals, Mike won 3-1.

So if Nevi beats Ballweg tonight, he is an All American, is that right?

I forgot to check before ... did Delgado win? Who does Garrett have next? Otherwise it's Dake-Caldwell and Bosak-Ruth in the semis and Nevinger-Ballweg for AA.

I think Delgado is good but he needed some last minute heroics to escape the quarters and does have some losses. Nahshon has as good of a chance as anyone and beating a 2x national champ has to have boosted his confidence. Should be a great matchup.

Nevi vs. Ballweg next. With no evening weigh in, I do like his chances.

This never seems to count for much regarding Iowa wrestlers, but it looks like Ballweg is wrestling on one leg with that large wrap.

And McDonough looks like a civil war soldier with that head wrap.

^^Remember Track is doing an excellent job updating brackets. YES, going into this evening's session, there are 4 semi finalists and 8 guys in the consi at each weight. The four winners of the first consi round tonight in each weight will place top 8. (I know most of you all are aware of the consi situation at the end of the Friday (afternoon) session. Tonight should be interesting!

Thoughts as I skim through the brackets:

125: David Thorn of Minnesota had a tough draw - Waters in the first round - but has three pins on the bottom bracket, including Bonnano, and faces Parisi (App. St.) in the round of 12.

133: The semis are #1-4, the QF were #1-8 and the round of 12 is the top 12. All of the wrestlers at 9-12 that lost early fought their way back in consys.

141: Durso is still alive, faces Neibert (Nevinger's first round opponent) in R12.

Not much interesting aside from the matches themselves. Not even sure if this is interesting. 24 minutes until the evening session.
