My number one interest will be Nahshon --- this is another huge test for him.

149 is stacked!

Always appreciate guys that do the leg work to pull together these kinds of posts. Appreciate the info - helps in building the anticipation.

RB, you da man.

This front part of the season seems to have been pretty intense already. Not sure why i feel that way.

Fingers crossed Bosak is back for SS --- I think it is good to experience Ruth once before the big show. That said, Bosak just getting back onto the mat and then dealing with the Southern Scuffle lineup --- will not expect him to be in top form.

I'm hearing Bosak is back in the room, won't be wrestling CKLV, but MAYBE as soon as Grapple in the Garden... We'll see!

OK, anyone - predictions?

Here's my two cents worth:

125: This could be Nahshon Garrett's coming out party on the national stage - some tough customers at this weight, including Alan Waters, Trent Sprenkle, and Matt Snyder, but I like Garrett's chances for a top 4 finish.

133: Nick Arujua needs to step up his game a bit, but if his performance against OU last week is any indication, this could be his time; should place, maybe with a strong showing sneak into the top 4.

141: Ditto for Mike Nevinger - he belongs in the top 4, needs to show it!

149: Wow, this weight is stacked! Chris Villalonga has a bunch of guys ranked above him here, needs an upset or two to place. I think he gets at least to RO12, but needs some luck to make the podium.

157: I expect Shanaman won't be back yet, so Dowdy will be the guy - Will be interesting to see how Chris does against this field (welcome to D1!) I think Dowdy gets a couple of wins, but the podium may be well out of reach for the freshman.

165: Dake - this should be a good tune up for him prior to the Garden, he'll get some good matches, but won't be tested too much.

174: Who will it be, Peppleman or Pickett? I've got to think Pickett gets the nod here (although this is one weight where it would be useful to enter two) Some tough characters around the top of this weight, but I think a RO 12 finish should be do-able for whover goes.

184: Thinking Bosak will not be back yet, so likely Craig Scott - another tough test for the Freshman class! I think Scott wins a few, more than that would be a bonus!

197: Jace Bennett ranked 10th in this group, according to Gregg Henry; can he push his way onto the podium? If he wrestles again like he did last weekend, I think yes!

285: Stryker Lane should finish top 12 here, if he can get to the podium, it should help his stock!

Red Blades - I'm more optimistic at this point.

Here is where I differ

125 - top 2
149 - top 6
197 - top 6
Hvy - top 6

Also have hopes for all the others but I'm feeling good on these.

SHP is posting first round matchups, here's what's up for the Big Red:

125: Aaron Pickrel (South Dakota State) vs. 2. Nahshon Garrett (Cornell) {note, a couple of late scratches here - Garrett has the 2 seed!}
133: Bricker Dixon (Cornell) vs. Josh Rodriguez (North Dakota State)
141: Joe Locksmith (Navy) vs. 4. Michael Nevinger (Cornell) {Nevinger in after all, has 4th seed}
149: Christopher Villalonga (Cornell) vs. 10. Daniel Young (Army) {Not a bad draw for CV, will run into the 7 seed next if he wins this round}
157: Dixon Richins (Western Wyoming) vs. Chris Dowdy (Cornell) {hits 1 seed James Green next if he wins - ouch!}
165: 1. Kid Dynamite (Cornell) vs. Curtis Cook (Utah Valley) {who is this dynamite kid!? Monk is the 2 seed}
174: Giuseppi Lanzi (Brown) vs. George Pickett (Cornell) {Interesting matchup}
184: 7. Craig Scott (Cornell) vs. Josh Popple (Harvard) {on track to hit Loder in QF if he wins out}
197: 9. Jace Bennett (Cornell) BYE
285: Sam Cervantes (Cal State-Bakersfield) vs. Stryker Lane (Cornell) {could hit 4 seed Apland from MI next}

From LV...
Garrett has moved up to 2nd seed; the VV kid at 125 is not wrestling. Dixon here at 133, not Arijau; Rob spacing out his times making weight. Nevinger here, not sure if he is seeded. Wrestling starts in 30 minutes.
