GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The 14th-ranked Southern Oregon men's wrestling team grinded out a quality dual victory Friday night, 22-14 at No. 8 Great Falls, to up its record to 3-1 in the West Region.

Luke Schlosser, the second-ranked 125-pounder in the NAIA, got the Argos started with a major decision, but the Raiders responded with wins in four straight classes. Freshman Matt Peterson (133) sparked the streak with a pin of third-ranked Clinton Garvin, nailing him down with five seconds left in the first round.

Trevor Hancock (141) followed with a 4-2 defeat of Justin Whitman, second-ranked Tyler Cowger (149) blanked No. 15 Kyle Leir in an 8-0 major decision, and Kyle Sether (157) made it 16-4 with a 5-3 win over Arram Price.

At 184, No. 3 Ryan McWatters gave SOU a 7-4 win over Taylor Vaughn, and Tanner Fischer delivered the last Raider win of the night, 7-6 over Justin Harbison, at 197.

UGF's Khalod Rashid, ranked fifth at 165, worked a 10-2 major decision against C.J. McKinnis. Andreas Geranios ended the night with a 5-3 win against Alejandro Sandoval at heavyweight.

The Raiders have won six of the last seven in the series against the Argos, but had lost in their last trip to Great Falls two seasons ago.

Next up, they'll be represented at Saturday's Nor Cal Open in Redding, Calif.
