Indiana Tech Ranked Third in NAIA Preseason Poll

Warriors Ranked Third in NAIA Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Indiana Tech wrestling team was ranked third in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, the national office announced on Wednesday.

One day after being ranked first in the Midwest Group Qualifier Rankings, the Warriors received 73 total team points and jump 13 spots from where they were ranked to end the 2014-15 campaign.

Tech also had nine wrestlers ranked in the top 16 of their respective weight classes. Mitch Pawlak (133 pounds), Travis Barroquillo (141 pounds) and LJ Grayson (184 pounds) were all ranked third to top the Orange and Black. Jacob Johnson was ranked seventh at 174 pounds, while Mitch Roadruck also cracked the top-10 at 157 pounds and being tabbed eighth.

Robert Humphrey (11th at 141 pounds), Thomas Garty (12th at 149 pounds), Matthew Miller (13th at 133 pounds) and John Weldon (tied for 16th at 165 pounds) rounded out the list of Warriors ranked in their respective weight classes.

The first regular-season installment of the poll will be released on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Indiana Tech will hold its annual Black and Orange Intrasquad meet on Friday night at 6 p.m. and opens the regular season on Oct. 31 when they take part in the Patriot Open, hosted by the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Meet time is set for 9 a.m.
