Eichlin, Ili lead King at Hokie Open

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The King University men's wrestling team traveled to the Hokie Open where they were one of four non-NCAA Division I teams. The Tornado were led by Kody Eichlin and Tyler Ili who both placed in their respective weight classes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After dropping his first bout at 174 pounds, Eichlin rolled off four straight victories, starting with a 6-3 win over Ben Wagner of VMI. He then topped Limestone College's Raekwon Reggler 3-2. Eichlin then defeated Chad Solomon of Chattanooga 10-4 to take fifth.

Ili finished sixth falling to a pair of NCAA Division I competitors.

Reed Jacks posted a record of 2-2 at 125 pounds, earning a 3-2 win over Kyle Quinn of #5 Notre Dame College.

At 141 pounds Bryce Killian fell in the first round to Solomon Chishko of Virginia Tech before taking a pair of wins over wrestlers from Notre Dame College, topping Trenton Soto 17-2 and Lane Dickenson 16-0. He then fell to William Kui of Columbia.

Wrestling unattached, Dustin Kirk went 3-1 to finish second at 133 pounds. He earned wins over Dom Gallo from VMI and Jake Huffine and Chris Dbien of Chattanooga before falling 10-7 to Irvin Enriquez of Appalachian State University.
