Seton Hill Wrestling Team Ranked Ninth in Preseason Regional Rankings; Three Griffins Ranked Individually

The Seton Hill wrestling team is tabbed ninth in the NCAA Division II Super Region One preseason rankings. Three Griffins are ranked individually among the top six in their respective weight classes.

Mercyhurst is the region's preseason favorite. Notre Dame (Ohio), Pitt-Johnstown, Wheeling Jesuit and Kutztown completed the top five. LIU Post, Gannon, East Stroudsburg and Seton Hill round out the top nine. Alderson Broaddus and Shippensburg were tied for 10th.

The Griffins were led in the regional rankings by Ty Lydic who was second in the region at 149 pounds. Lydic enters the 2015-16 season ranked eighth at 149 pounds in the national rankings. Ty advanced to nationals last season after a third place finish at the Super Region I Championships. Ty finished the season with an 13-5 record after joining the team at the semester break.

Morris Lawson is ranked fifth in the region at 184 pounds while Rodney Sunday is sixth at 133 pounds. Lawson finished last season with a 19-17 record while Sunday was 5-5 after missing most of the season with an injury.

The Griffins competed at the Clarion Open last weekend and will take part in the Mount Union Open on November 14th.
