ERIE, Pa. - Gannon head wrestling coach Don Henry has announced the addition of 17 student-athletes to the program. All 17 have agreed to continue their academic and athletic careers at Gannon in the fall of 2015.

The 2015 recruiting class includes Ejijah Bell (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), Donny Didion (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North), Carl Gorg (Tioga, Pa./Williamson), Ryan Kaminski (North Canton, Ohio/Green), George McGuire (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf), Thomas McNeill (Sicklerville, N.J./Winslow Township), Zachary Nealis (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), Teagan O'Sullivan (Union City, Pa./ Cathedral Prep), Darnell Parker (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva), Nicholas Pollara (Brick, N.J./Brick Township), Trey Romance (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville), Travis Schmeling (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe), Isaiah Slappy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), Casey Vollmer (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany), Luke Walter (Mercer, Pa./.Grove City), Anthony Williamson (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and Tyler Workman (Parma, Ohio/Parma).

"This year's class has quantity and quality," said Henry. "We have 17 quality recruits from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and New York. Most should make an immediate impact in the wrestling room and contend for starting spots right away."

Gannon finished 7-5 in dual competition last season, producing its eighth consecutive winning season. The Golden Knights placed fifth at the NCAA Division II Super Regional One and 40th at the NCAA Division II National Championships. The squad qualified three wrestlers for the national championships for the first time since 2012.

Henry's program has been one steep in tradition. The program has produced 22 All-Americans who have achieved all-america status a combined 32 times. He has coached 22 regional champions, along with 74 All-Academic wrestlers and 69 national qualifiers. Gannon recorded the 18th-highest team grade point average in NCAA Division II last year, representing its 10th top-20 finish since 2000-01.
