"Takedowns and Falls"

** For those of you who have not seen the documenatry movie "Takedowns and Falls", I highly recommend it. It's a doccumentary, while focusing on the Central Dauphin wrestling team of 2006, does an extraordinary job of showing the nuances and obstacles that naturally get in between young men and success. It shows the timely impact that a good man and coach (Jeff Swiegard) can have on a young man in understanding the things that make for success. Not Hollywood glitzy but very real, it follows the Central Dauphin team through one season from tryouts to states. You see the Peppelmans, Kenny Stank, Thomas Shovlin, Tony Dellago, Simon Rice et.al. And in the scenes and stills from states that year you'll see Thad Frick and Andrew Rithie, Zach Kemmerer, and many others. Because the movie , released about a year ago, covers the wrestling year 2006-07, these are the very same guys who are now wrestling for national titles as seniors in college. If you intend to follow Nationals, this might be a good prep if you're not already in the mood. If you have Netflix it's available to stream. It's honestly the best and most realistic presentation of inside high school wrestling that I've seen. Enjoy.
