Buffalo at Kent State

Postby Tyrion » Thu Dec 17, 2015 9:49 pm

On Sunday, December 13th Kent State hosted Buffalo (their second away conference dual). Kent State won 9 of 10 individual matches and the team scoring by 28-3. Congratulations to Kent State for a great win!

A quick glance at the score might be seriously misleading... This was a great (!) dual. Nine of ten matches were nail-biting close decisions. For these matches, the *average* differential was exactly 1 point...! Ian Miller (157 monster) was the exception, with a 14-4 major over a game Tim Schaeffer.

Of note: Brandon Lapi (141) continues to wrestle well with 9-5 overall and 4-1 dual records. Colt Cotton (149) lost an intense match against Mike DePalma (8-7) on a last second take down. Cotton with a 5-3 dual and overall record was out of the lineup due to injury most of last year. His losses this year are to #23 Nick Barber, Eastern Michigan (8-6); Ryan Moseley, Gardner-Webb (4-2 SV); and #13 Mike DePalma, Kent State (8-7). With only eight matches this year, Cotton will be a wrestler to watch going forward.

A terrific Flowrestling interview with Coach Stutzman (http://www.flowrestling.org/video/80920 ... ard-vs-ksu).

A couple of nice articles on the Buffalo (http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/wrest/201 ... 1213ql3m16), Kent State (http://www.kentstatesports.com/news/201 ... 51710.aspx) and BullRun (http://www.ubbullrun.com/2015/12/13/100 ... ashes-28-3) sites.

Kent State did an excellent job with their video coverage. Could someone let us know if this coverage is archived on line?
