His brother is leaving also. I think the weather and dad flying to Erie from Florida to watch helped

As if the weather in Iowa in the Winter is any better! And it is no easier to get to Ames than it is to Edinboro! Try again with another explanation. Something amiss
or at least something being left unsaid or unexplained. In any case, am sorry to see Edinboro lose Lugo to a Big Ten team.

Agree, this stinks for Edinboro.

IMO, this is happening far too often recently and is hurting the smaller (non Big 10) programs.

It has been happening alot more recently. Steve Bleise would have had the chance to be the first AA in a while for Northern Illinois and he went to Minn. Austin Eicher won the MAC at 133 if i rememeber correct and left the following year to wrestle at MSU. Michael Longo was a 2x qualifier at App State and went to Oklahoma when Roselli took over. I could keep going. Even though there is more parity than ever the rich still stay rich.

Just since 2017 NCAA's :

Keener - CMU to Penn St.
McKenna - Stanford to Ohio St.
Lugo - Edinboro to Iowa
Bleise - N. Illinois to Minnesota
Campbell - Pittsburgh to Ohio St.
Beazley - ODU to Michigan

Common theme ? All moves from "smaller programs" to Big 10 schools,

How anyone can consider this trend to be "positive" for the long-term health of D1 Wrestling ?
