looks like a very solid recruit for Clarion. Congrats Coach Ferraro!

http://intermatwrestle.com/articles/16933
"No. 50 Wohlabaugh, Junior National double runner-up, chooses Clarion
Three-time state medalist Max Wohlabaugh (Winter Springs, Fla.) verbally committed to Clarion University on Tuesday afternoon. The No. 50 overall wrestler in the Class of 2017 was runner-up in both styles, Greco-Roman and freestyle, at this summer's Junior Nationals at 160 pounds. Wohlabaugh also was a champion in Cadet Greco-Roman at 152 pounds during the summer of 2015 and a UWW Cadet National champion in Greco-Roman this June at 69 kilograms. The 2014 state champion projects to compete as a 157/165 in college."

http://www.flowrestling.org/article/477 ... to-clarion
"Max Wohlabaugh will be headed north for college, as the Florida star made his intentions known that he will be wrestling for Clarion.

Max Wohlabaugh ‎@Max_Wohlabaugh3
"Blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at The Clarion University @WrestlingCUP"

The senior at Winter Springs high school was the 69kg cadet world team member this year for Greco-Roman and also made the Fargo junior finals at 160 pounds in both styles.
He is currently ranked 4th at 160 pounds and is No. 39 on the senior big board. Only one Florida senior is above him on the big board (Bryce Rogers), though Wohlabaugh is the only athlete from the Sunshine State to be ranked in the top four at his weight."

per Intermat:
11-08-16 Clarion Tyler Bagoly Exeter Township PA 174

had a 44-7 record for AAA Exeter last season (15-16)

from the PIAA Team Duals last season:
"Belle Vernon ran off four straight wins before Ty Bagoly (152, JR) claimed his 100th career victory with a fall over 8th ranked Jared Verkleeren (Iowa State recruit). Bagoly found himself in a 5-0 hole at the start of the second period, after being caught in a bottom leg cradle early in the first period. Bagoly worked for an escape and Verkleeren was back in on a leg. This time, Bagoly came over the top, locking up a spladle and decking Verkleeren to hit the century mark at 3:29."

13 Pennsylvania Wrestlers Medal at Cadet Freestyle Nationals
(2015 USAW Cadet Freestyle Nationals)
"At 152 lbs. some would call Tyler Bagoly (Exeter Township) a surprise medalist in Fargo as the rising junior was not expected to appear in the Cadet National Freestyle semifinals. Bagoly ended his sophomore season at Exeter with a (33-13) record and ranked #8 in the South Central Region at 132 lbs. Clearly the added weight he put on over the summer is a benefit as he finished in sixth place at the Cadet Freestyle Nationals."

Congrats again to Brookville native and Clarion University Recruit Gavin Park.
Not only for his selection to represent PA's team in the Wrestling Classic (Dapper Dan), but by winning and defeating 3x AZ Champ, Fargo Champ, and No. 5 ranked (126 lbs) Brandon Courtney, an Arizona State recruit.
After this victory, I notice that Gavin Park finally cracked the national rankings for Flo at No. 16 (120 lbs).

Jeff Upson agrees mattown-maniac!

He has Clarion ranked #2 of all D1 programs recruiting of PA's 2017 class.
http://www.papowerwrestling.com/schools ... 017-class/

#2 Clarion

#20 Gavin Park (Brookville); #21 Toby Cahill (Berlin Brothersvalley); #29 Jake Reigel (Wyoming Seminary); #53 Jalin Hankerson (Boiling Springs); #56 Tyler Bagoly (Exeter Township) #112 John Mott (Commodore Perry); #183 Rodney Driscoll (Lake Lehman); #272 Nick Geyer (Pine-Richland)

The Golden Eagles of Clarion boast a strong recruiting class of 2017 from Pennsylvania with two PIAA State Champions on the list. #20 Gavin Park and #21 Toby Cahill each won Class AA Championship titles in March and will be on opposite ends of the line-up. Park projects at 125 lbs. while Cahill will be looking to compete at 285 lbs. Park joins his former Brookville teammate Taylor Ortz while Cahill joins older brother Taylor. Head coach Keith Ferraro will also welcome in former PIAA State Champion and National Prep star #29 Jake Reigel who was a 2-time POWERade Champion while at Wyoming Seminary. Three additional PIAA State Medalists, #53 Jalin Hankerson, #56 Ty Bagoly, and #112 John Mott will all be attending Clarion in the fall.

Max Wohlabaugh named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week
By Richard Immel, USA Wrestling | May 30, 2017, 4:48 p.m. (ET)

Max Wohlabaugh (Winter Springs, Fla./Florida Jets) has been selected as TheMat.com Athlete of the Week on May 30, 2017.

Wohlabaugh put on a striking performance at the USA Wrestling Southeast Regional in Atlanta, Ga. last weekend, claiming both the Greco-Roman and freestyle crowns at 170 pounds.

The Florida native won eight matches over the course of the two-day event with five victories coming by way of technical fall. In the Greco-Roman finals, Wohlabaugh defeated Raul Gierbolini of Florida, 7-0. He followed with a 10-0 win over Georgia’s Ian Darling in the freestyle finals.

Wohlabaugh has had tremendous success in the international styles in recent years. Last year, he represented the U.S. at the Cadet World Championships held in Tbilisi, Georgia. He also finished in second place at the USA Wrestling Junior Nationals in both styles last summer in Fargo, N.D., and was a Cadet Nationals champion in Greco-Roman in 2015.

On the folkstyle side, Wohlabaugh is a four-time place-winner at the Florida high school state championships and was a state champion in 2014. In addition, won the Cliff Keen/USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals last November.

Wohlabaugh will continue his career at the collegiate level next year for Clarion University and head coach Keith Ferraro.
