I'm thinking chertow(psu) and possibly clemsen(acc). Since both were mentioned before it seems like a strong possibility.

Truthfully I hope Marcus Gordon doesn't get the job. Granted he was the only saving grace in the room the last few years according to forums talk. But the level of wrestling isn't up to par and neither is recruiting (asst coaches usually coordinate recruiting). I said this before but the big thing with hiring Gordon years back was his strong ohio ties, yet only one guy has made it to Bloom from Ohio.

New blood is needed to overhaul this program. If I got it right on my first two guesses than either of those should do well.hopefuly who ever it is stays a complete cycle through so the program can restabilize.

Chertow also is a Penn Stater. The ACC connection is probably Beasley, since he was the apparent runner-up during the last coaching search. I would go with Beasley since he is a former Husky.

I would probably go with Beasley too because he is a former Bloom wrestler and assistant coach. He has been a coach and a recruiter at Bloomsburg, Buffalo, Binghamton, and NC State. He has been a good recruiter. Can he recruit at Bloom? He is a known person with high school wrestling coaches which in itself would get his foot in the door to recruit

From what I hear Gordon has support from the team. I'm sure they are hoping he stays on as an assistant atleast.

Beasley could be a possibility. Would he leave NC state with all that's going on there to go to Bloom? I thought he would stay on there and land a bigger job at a more well funded school.

I seriously wonder if Bloom can come up with any of the salaries that some of these applicants might be asking for. Some of these applicants may also want a second salaried assistant coach. The one with the ACC affiliation is not an assistant coach. He is officially an "Associate Head Coach", which title and the accompanying responsibilities probably enhances one's salary quite beyond that of an assistant coach.

The cost of living in Bloom needs to be taken into consideration when talking about salaries. A $60,000 salary goes a lot further in Bloom than Raleigh. I believe his wife is a Bloom grad as well. Maybe they love the school.

True, but the above by my way of thinking is a legit concern.

I have the same thoughts. Guess we will know one way or the other soon enough.

I feel Beasley would be a great hire. He is one of the top recruiters in the country. I mean he landed a class with some top 100 guys out in Buffalo. The big question marks is can he develop guys and will he make it a career job? Popolizio has developed guys at Binghamton and NC State so I don't know how much influence Beasley has.

I don't think we will know the final outcome until sometime after October 10. Just a hunch.

Who are the finalists? I'm going with the info above Beasley Marcus Gordon, Chertow. Beasley gets the job. What's everyone else's guess on these finalists?
