BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University wrestling coach Jason Mester has announced the naming of Kevin Laubach (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) and Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) as captains for the 2015-16 season.
"Andy and Kevin have demonstrated a high level of commitment with academics and wrestling in their career at Bloomsburg University," said Mester. "These guys bring a positive attitude to the program every single day, making every person around them improve. We are excited to have them lead Bloomsburg wrestling into the future."
Laubach, a junior, wrestled at 149 pounds a year ago for the Huskies winning 13 matches. He was a PSAC and EWL placewinner taking sixth at both events.
Schutz, a junior and wrestling at 133 pounds, was second on the team with 15 wins last season. He was a PSAC placewinner taking third as well as an EWL placewinner finishing sixth.
Bloomsburg will open its season on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Eastern Michigan Duals taking on Kent State, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.
