>>>>>>I'd add Mark Dufresne to the list of AAs that didn't win a NJ hs title. Dufresne's best NJ finish was 4th and he earned his AA medal the extra hard way--- via a long run thru the NCAA consolations.

NJ has 300+ high schools in a one class year end tournament and a tradition of good hs wrestling. Placing 3rd as a junior is no small feat.

It shows a healthy level of talent plus the mental focus required to rebound from a loss and fight thru the consolation rounds.

I'm obviously biased, but I'd recruit any NJ guy that finish 3rd as a junior.

It's a great time to be a Lehigh wrestling fan.

Seniors, more often than not, command the top 2 spots at the NJ states and I was discussing juniors, but I'll gladly expand my statement:

I'd recruit any NJ junior that finishes top 3 at the state tournament.

It's a great time to be a Lehigh wrestling fan.

To pick up on RichB's post, coming up this week:

McConagle at Lowell Holiday 12-28 and 12-29
Meyer at Bethlehem Holiday 12-28 and 12-29
Jones at Governor Mifflin's Mustang Holiday 12-28 and 12-29
Lane at Chambersburg Trojan Wars 12-29 and 12-30

Does anyone know if Josh Humphreys out of Parkersburg, WV is a confirmed recruit. I know it was mentioned on another thread that Mason Beckman had mentioned him as a recruit during one of his PA Podcast discussions.

McGonagle wins the George Bossi Lowell tournament with a 5-0 victory against a very tough Russian Ramazan Attasauov.
Jones goes on to finish 3rd after his tech fall loss to Beard (Penn State commit). He had 2 quick pins to finish the tournament
Meyer finishes 2nd after losing by fall to Sasso in the finals of the Bethlehem Holiday Tournament

Beard is Intermat's #14 overall recruit right now. Sasso is #11.

I'm not sure if Humphreys is really lehighs but he just majored pa state champ McCoy at powerade. His stock just went up with that win.

From the Southern Columbia Twitter
Jaret Lane finishes a perfect 5-0 including 4 falls and a dominant 5-1 victory over PIAA State Medalist Richie Markulics to claim his 4th consecutive Trojan Wars helmet!
