**** I agree with LU in NJ, even though I would love to see how Ryan will do against some of the tough guys at the Scuffle, I would much rather he take as much time as necessary to fully heal and come back ready to challenge at the EIWAs and NCAAs.

PEACE, LOVE AND LEHIGH WRESTLING!

BTW, my son Jake gave me a 750 ML bottle of Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout (Imperial Stout brewed with Chocolate and Coffee, aged in Maple Syrup and Bourbon Barrels), for Christmas. 11.7% Alcohol and it was last brewed in November of 2011, so it has been aging a long time. So it is a real Sipper. Sounds like just the beverage to enjoy while watching the Southern Scuffle on Flo. Cheers.

Bob, save it to celebrate LU's win over CU in the EIWAs. :D

**** At first glance that is a good idea, but with the EIWAs at Hofstra, it is a 2 1/2 hour drive back to the Lehigh Valley where I will be staying the 2nd night, before driving back to NC. I do not need to potentially get pulled over in NY or NJ on my way back to the Lehigh Valley. My 3 favorite letters are NOT DUI.

If Cole wins the EIWA with this ragtag bunch than I will admit he's a very good coach.

I'd have thought being half-wasted would help you blend in with all the others on the road.

Fix versus Cruz, if it were to happen would certainly be interesting.

Much like Yianni, Fix certainly has the pedigree (168-0 in official high school matches, junior world champion), and has looked good when wrestling at opens this year, he is currently 3-0 against D1 wrestlers (including wins over the currently ranked #8 Fausz and #15 Bresser by Flo Rankings).

Fix beat Fausz I believe 2-1 in a tightly contested match. Darian has played it pretty close to the vest in most of his matches this year which has surprised me.

Fix is a big 125, good defense, solid offense, not sure about his top position ability as I have only seen him wrestle in freestyle matches.

I'll take our guy in a exciting close match, would like to see Darian open up a bit more though, I've wondered if he mentally became more conservative after his slip up/lost cradle which cost him exhibition match against Piccinni.

I don't see any evidence of slowing things down due to one bout, since some guys like slow the pace vs champs to minimize scoring (see Fuentes). Darian himself kept the pace under control in most key bouts last yr incl Dance in Grace and his last 3 bouts to win it all.

Thanks Wally but I'll stick with what I've seen, stats often tell a story but in my opinion they also often fabricate a story..... most of those matches listed this year were and should have been complete mismatches.....the only 3 to me that were true challenges of any kind were Fuentes, Mattin and Campbell (Campbell actually not so much).....and in all 3 matches I saw him do what he needed to do but not a whole lot more.......

Hey he's a national champ, it's nitpicking sure, but that's my opinion.........and by the way that's a pretty weak press release concerning Scuffle and Midlands, doesn't tell you much on who's going to Midlands only saying 5 attached and 5 unattached (other than Pomrinca and Matt Parker) wrestlers........doesn't Midlands start tomorrow morning??

So Weiler definitely going to Scuffle... Midlands official site has him listed as one of their 197 top contenders:

I'll defer to LU's release.

No, I hear they're already in the 2nd Rd (kidding)
I have no idea what you're complaining about on the Midlands release, but I'll be sure to talk to Darian in TN about picking up his pace.

MEANWHILE, IN CHICAGO (no wait, Lo - our fans know it's actually in EVANSTON!/? Huge news that it's actually not this yr; first time since mid-60's

While Lehigh sends a full contingent to the Southern Scuffle for
the fourth straight year, as many as 10 Mountain Hawks could

The Midlands was Lehigh’s holiday tournament of choice from 2009 to 2013 before
the Mountain Hawks decided to switch over to the Scuffle in 2014-15.

Lehigh is expected to send five attached wrestlers and five unattached wrestlers.

Hopefully the renovation of Welsh-Ryan Arena will allow for greater wrestler safety and provide the appropriate five-foot space between the outer circle and the bleachers.
