Whats a TROLL?

Postby know it all » Fri Dec 08, 2017 9:13 pm

One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument

a mythical, cave-dwelling being depicted in folklore as either a giant or a dwarf, typically having a very ugly appearance.

synonyms: goblin, hobgoblin, gnome, halfling, demon, monster, bugaboo, ogre

or is a troll "an old man that has nothing better to do than sit around and watch wrestling until the wee hours of the night"?

I guess that's better than being mythical.

Mostly a troll is someone who would make the topic post "What'a troll"......

What's the saying about pornography, something like I can't define it but I know it when I see it?? Troll posts fit that definition nicely...... And this is from a not so old, although sometimes grumpy man

Is it better to be a real person, whose contributions to the world (good or bad) should be remembered, but is forgotten OR to be remembered as someone whose contributions seem real, but personally as a myth? I will give some examples. Religious figures:: Adam, Noah, Abraham, (even) Moses. Others, Robin Hood, Generals Sun + Tsao, Princess Onoko.
