Yozzo's Soph year was the year Tennessee won MatTown, Then went home to find that its program was being cancelled. I think That was the 3rd SEC team to win MT, and within days have their program cancelled. Georgia +(not sure Florida, Auburn, LSU?)

Remember being at Mat Towns in Dec 83 and 84. Am thinking that was the tourney when they had a mat or two in a separate area/room away from the main floor of the gymnasium. Had to leave bleachers and walk over to it to see the action.

trivia on his opponent-Krieger was 4 time #1 seed at NCAA tournament. Only career losses happened at NCAAs (placed 5th, 1st, 2nd, 1st)

**** I think it had to be December 83, because I left Lock Haven and met some friends who were playing at a club in Pstate. That band that disbanded by late 84 and I moved from PA to upstate NY by early 85 to take a job with Allied Signal in Montrose PA and lived in Endicott NY.

Tennessee high school wrestling is surprisingly good. Bill Harlow, Jordan Leen, Phil Simpson, Matt Keller being the most prominent products. Really wished UT still had a team.

Tennessee discontinued its program in the mid '80s. A co-worker's son was considering scholarship offers from WVA and UT the night I ran into them in a local restaurant. They hadn't heard that UT had just announced cutting wrestling. Kid went to WVA, of course.

He preferred DAVID. (not the Lehigh football player. Think he was either the punter, or punt returner-WR)

Their wrestling room is in that adjacent room behind the one set of stands.

Jeff Karam graduated Easton High in 1985 and did not crack into Lock Haven lineup until his 2nd or 3rd year. Jody was ranked as high as #4.
