Princeton Tigers 12/1

Anticipate potential for Lehigh to rest a couple key starters ahead of PSU on Sunday

125 Seems like Gomez emerging here...won't matter v the defending NCAA champ
133 No sign Agaisse so far so potentially Parker faces a backup or gets the night off
141 D'Arcy v Karam - figure a very close bout here...MH will take the MH
149 Kolodzik a very tough assignment for either Mele or Schuyler.....will we see both at this weight again this weekend?
157 D'Angelo v Brown...like Ian in this one if he goes...Kent Lane defeated DAngelo last year
165 Schleifer down at 165 will be a tough matchup for whoever Lehigh mats here....like to see the Wolfman unleashed here
174 unsettled weight for PU, perhaps someone from LU's deep bench here to keep Kutler fresh for Sunday?
184 Preisch over K Parker...another possible "rest for Sunday scenario depending on how the dual is going
197 Ian Baker hasn't seen the mat yet...great test for whomever LU decides to mat
285 Araneo will have a tough night v J Wood

Variables aplenty here but MH sees it as a 7-3 bout split with more bonus points on the Lehigh side as well

Thank you for the analysis.

This will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network. That's not a freebie, is it?

125: Gomez, Fr, 7-3, 6-3 against Div I wrestlers; or DeVincenzo, Soph, 8th at EIWAs last March
133: Adkins, Jr, 2-4; or Ajram, Jr, 0-4
141: D'Arcy, Jr, 6-3, not counting a win over Army Prep's Shie who seems to be beating lots of guys (Intermat #95 recruit)
149: Kolodzik, Soph, 5-0, NCAA 7th last March, 4.0 EIWA CR (Intermat #6 recruit)
157: D'Angelo, Jr, 7-2, EIWA 3rd last March
165: Schleifer, Sr, 3-2, EIWA 5th last March at 174, 19.3 EIWA CR (Intermat #24 recruit)
174: Gancayco, Sr, 4-4; or Powell, Soph, 6-3
184: Parker, Soph, 4-4
197: Brucki, Frosh, 9-1 (Intermat #28 recruit)
285: Araneo, Soph, 7-3 (Intermat #64 recruit)

Princeton hasn't yet won a dual against a ranked opponent in the Ayres era. We don't want to be the first.

Night OFF,..maybe rest a few guys,..ya kidding me! Tell me what difference THAT will make against Penn State? Hell,..they've already had a couple weeks OFF without any competition,..and ya want more..? Figure on spending mid-morning at former Lindbergh Estate,..and rest of the day on beautiful Princeton Campus. Want to admire the Gothic Architecture, especially in Rockefeller Campus,.. and WALK in the footsteps of The-Beautiful-Mind, John Nash. By the time I get to Jadwin, the former site of our STATE tournament and many fond memories,.. I wanna see our A-Team, and so does Coach Ayers!

Ayres is preparing to face three teams in the next 15 days: #5, #10 and #2. He deserves to have his name spelled right, especially owning LU records for most bouts and 2nd-most wins. I trust half-nelson's half-baked over-ardor noticed that alternate Lane beat last year's EIWA 3.

Chris Ayres is the only person to win both the Fletcher Award (most career points scored in EIWA championships; 1999) and the Coach of the Year Award (2017). Seems to me we could get his name right after all these years.

**** Agree Chris is also one of the nicest and approachable guys you would ever want to meet. I had many conversations with him in the old Lehigh wrestling room when he was both a wrestler and an assistant to Greg.

This fixation with (mis) spelling a difficult name is misplaced. Posters come on and make a post. There is no disrespect intended. Why don’t you guys just spell it correctly when it’s your turn and save the admonishments for something important.

This difficult name is 5 letters long. The disrespect isn't in the misspelling, it's coming on and dismissing it. Just laugh and admit it. And then get it right. I misspelled it also here, JDA didn't make a big deal this time. He made a joke. Just deal with it.

**** I will go one place further 8-2 Lehigh, with obviously 149 and either 141 or 197, but not both. BTW, MS64 (Big John) and his lovely wife have invited me over to watch the match. Great people.
