Lehigh Trivia

Postby JDALU75 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 11:21 am

I'll buy the first person to post the correct answer a latte or equivalent at EIWAs at Bucknell next month. Gimp's not eligible but I don't think even he knows the answer.

What unique position does George Sawtelle (Class of 1916, later an executive with the Kirby Petroleum Company) occupy in Lehigh wrestling history?

The answer will be published in the 2017-2018 Lehigh Wrestling Club Pre-season Mat Wrap, which can be had for the bargain price of FREE (with a paid membership in the Lehigh Wrestling Club).

He fabricated the first ear protectors from week old bagels from the U.C. and has since proven its worth with thousands of wrestlers.

Nope, but you get honorable mention for creativity.

Nope. Not too far off, though.

Nope, but that's a good guess. That distinction probably goes to Dick Suppes, our 115-pounder in the 1913 tournament.

He'd be 124 years old now .......... so I guess it's possible.

Nope. And he wasn't the reincarnation of Bigfoot, either.
